However, it is also that time of the year for a lot of rain and thunderstorms. But a clean ductwork can help make the air you breathe fresh and clean. Since the ductwork is above the ceiling and typically out of sight, it’s easy to not think about having it cleaned. But a dirty ductwork is the perfect breeding ground for mites, mold, bacteria, viruses, and other poisons that are toxic to the environment. Regardless of whether you work in an Industrial facility, commercial, healthcare, or an educational campus, the only way to completely remove these pollutants is through routine [commercial duct cleaning](https://hughesenv.com/commercial-duct-cleaning/).   ## Top Reasons Commercial Duct Cleaning For Any Business Is Important   ### **Prevent Combustible Dust Explosion** According to the Dust Explosion Pentagon, one of the essential parts to creating the situation for a combustible dust explosion is containment. And what better environment for this to happen than inside of a facility’s ductwork. [Manufacturing Facility](https://hughesenv.com/prevent-dust-explosion-hazard/) – dust created from the manufacturing process is dispersed throughout the facility and over time, is brought into the ventilation ductwork as air flows through the building. The dust will settle in sections of the duct where there is a bend or anything that might prevent the dust from continuing to flow through the duct. The constant movement of air causes potential ignition sources to be drawn into the ductwork. Sparks and embers can stay hot for a long enough time, and when sucked into the HVAC system can come into contact with the dust or a piece of metal traveling through the ductwork can scrape the side and cause an ignition spark. The dust moving through the duct also creates a buildup of static electricity, which can have the potential to create an explosion.   ### **Improve Indoor Air Quality ** Healthcare Facility – whether you are a [hospital](https://hughesenv.com/improve-hospitals-indoor-air-quality/) or [nursing facility](https://hughesenv.com/importance-of-duct-cleaning-in-nursing-homes/), there are many vulnerable lives that you want to help protect and keep safe. Unfortunately, it is often assumed that being indoors is a safe and healthy place for people who have health issues, but this actually puts them at more risk. In fact, inside air is up to 10 times more polluted that outside air, and after construction or renovation it can be up to 1000 times dirtier than outside air. Although this statistic is dangerous for anyone, it is even more important to keep in mind for people who are forced to spend most of their time inside. And nursing homes are one area that this is a severe issue and where indoor air quality should be closely monitored. Not only are healthcare facility’s a vulnerable place, but schools are an important place to keep the air you breath clean. [Schools](https://hughesenv.com/ventilation-issues-close-high-school/) – are a place where students go to further their education and prepare for their careers. According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), poor indoor air quality can trigger many health problems including asthma and allergies that reduce students’ ability to perform. In fact, one study shows that students in a classrooms with higher outdoor air ventilation scored 14 to 15 percent higher on standardized test than students in classrooms with lower outdoor air ventilation. Not only does better air quality in schools enhance academic performances in students, but it also increases teacher and staff productivity as well as retention.   ### **Help Company Save Money** [Commercial Facility](https://hughesenv.com/commercial-ductwork-cleaning-services-can-help-you-save-money/) – many companies are constantly searching for ways to conserve energy and money each year, but often a major source of waste and money loss happens right above their head. But when the air ducts throughout a building go without regular ductwork cleaning services they can build up with dust and other debris; which can cause the system to run less efficiently. In fact, according to the [EPA](https://www.epa.gov/), a buildup of just 0.42″ of dirt on a heating or cooling coil can result in a decrease of efficiency of 21%. In addition, a study by [ASHRAE](https://www.ashrae.org/) found that a dirty HVAC system is up to 40% less efficient than a clean one.   There are many benefits to performing regular duct cleaning services regardless of the industry. We can’t stress enough the importance of making sure your facility’s ductwork is cleaned and free of any combustible dust accumulations. Not only do clean ducts prove fresh clean air for everyone to breath, but they also help companies save money by running more efficiently.   For more information about Commercial Duct Cleaning for any Business, [Contact Us Here](https://hughesenv.com/contact-us/).
